Replacing the adapter
Here we come to a hardware malfunction. If the TV stops connecting to the wireless network, the reason for this may be a faulty built-in radio module. In order not to repair it, but at the same time to get access to the Internet, you can use an external adapter. To do this, the device is simply inserted into the corresponding socket on the TV.
In the event of a breakdown of the radio module, you can also connect the TV directly to the router using a cable. To do this, one end of the wire is fixed into the socket of the receiver, the other into the socket on the router. After that, you can log on to the Internet. This is a temporary measure and when the opportunity arises, it is better to repair the module.
When the TV does not connect to the network, it is not necessary to immediately contact a service center. You can try to solve the problem yourself by trying different methods for this. You should contact the specialists if none of the options above helped to eliminate the malfunction.
Write in the comments which method helped you. If you know more solutions to the problem with the wireless connection of TVs, I will be glad if you share!
TV does not connect to WI-FI: Samsung and LG cannot see the network
Modern TVs with Smart-TV function allow not only watching TV programs, but also going online. This makes the receivers a multifunctional device. To fully enjoy TVs with Smart TVs, an internet connection is required.
The easiest way to access the network is with a router. Usually there is no problem with this. However, it may happen that the TV does not connect to WI-FI. In most cases, you can solve this problem yourself. The main thing is to find the cause of the problem and fix it.
check the range of the router (2.4 and 5 GHz) and the working channel
Modern routers can operate in two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (the latter is preferred, since the data exchange rate is higher). However, not all TVs support 5 GHz, therefore, I would recommend turning on broadcasting in 2 bands at once in the router settings.

5 GHz or 2.4 GHz. configuring a TP-Link router
Another important point: TVs for Europe and the CIS can see the 5 GHz network only on 4 channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 (a channel is a special setting in the router that tells it the exact frequency of the network on which it works). If we talk about the 2.4 GHz network, then the operating range is from 1 to 13 channels (For Russia and the CIS).
Channels are also set in the router settings (in the “Wireless mode” section).

By the way, it should be said that if your TV or router is not localized for the countries of Europe or the CIS, it is possible that it “does not see” some of the channels. Try alternately as an experiment to change several channels in the web interface of the router.

If restarting and reconnecting doesn’t work, you can try a factory reset. This is one of the easiest and fastest ways to solve the problem with the receiver’s network connection. The method of resetting to factory settings depends on the model of the device.
To reset the settings of an LG TV that refuses to connect to WI-FI, we do this
- go to the settings menu;
- from there to the sub-item “Additional”;
- click on the inscription “General”;
- click “Reset to factory settings”.
If the Sony TV does not connect to WI-FI, then here it is also recommended to solve the problem with a factory reset. To return to factory settings on a Sony device, you need to:
- go to the TV menu;
- get into the subsection “Settings”;
- click on the inscription “Storage reset”;
- click on the “Factory data reset” column;
- reset settings and confirm action.
To factory reset your Samsung receiver:
- go to the “Support” menu;
- select the sub-item “Self-diagnosis”;
- click on the inscription “Reset settings”.
For TV, Samsung has found video instructions for you:
Why does not it pick up the signal?
One of the main difficulties that owners of Samsung Smart TV TV receivers face is the problem with the Internet connection. And if everything functions steadily when the TV set is connected to the network via cable, then difficulties arise with the connection via Wi-Fi. For example, users often complain that there is no Wi-Fi in the Samsung TV receiver settings, it does not see (does not search, does not find) wireless networks or does not connect to Wi-Fi.
In some episodes, after connecting to the router in the Smart TV menu of the Samsung TV, there is no access to the network in the browser and applications. This is an error connecting to the server or the Internet (“no network connection”, “network not connected”) in various applications.
There are times when, for example, the Internet disappeared only on YouTube, or the pages of the sites do not open in the browser of the TV receiver, or the Internet worked and suddenly stopped.
When we talk about connecting via a wireless network, we must be aware that the cause of any difficulties may be not only a television receiver, but also a router. The very procedure for connecting a Samsung device to Wi-Fi is very simple. First of all, you need to make sure whether there is Wi-Fi in your TV receiver at all. Many Samsung TVs (usually older ones) with Smart TV options do not have an integrated Wi-Fi unit. Such devices can be connected to the network either via an external USB receiver (brand, exclusively from Samsung) or via an Ethernet cable.
Changing the Router Location
Problems with the wireless network on the TV may be due to poor signal reception from the router. If possible, move the router closer to the Smart TV and install it so that there is less interference in the path of radio waves. Signal barriers are walls, furniture, and working appliances.
Installing an access point on an elevated level will help ensure a better WI-FI connection. For example, you can put the router on top of a cabinet or hang it over a door. If you cannot move the router closer to the TV, connect a more powerful antenna to it. The higher the antenna gain, the better the network will work on Smart TV.
Using a different WI-FI connection method
If you established the connection by manually entering the password from the wireless network, try connecting via WPS. WI-FI Protected Setup technology allows you to activate the fast connection mode in the TV settings. After that, a similar mode must be activated on the router. This is done through the control panel or a dedicated button on the back of the case.
To access the router’s web interface, turn the device over and find the login sticker. It is usually located on the bottom side and indicates the standard IP address, username and password. Enter the IP in any browser and enter the account information available on the sticker. Then go to the “WPS” section and activate this function. Fast connection will be available within 1-2 minutes.
In the case when the WPS protocol was used initially, but at the moment the connection cannot be established, enter the information manually. When connecting to a hidden network, you will need to specify not only the access key, but also the WI-FI name (SSID). TVs with earlier firmware versions do not always support Hidden Network Search. Therefore, before updating the software, it is recommended to remove the hiding of the network name in the router settings.
Solved: Samsung Smart TV stopped connecting to Internet (Wi-Fi and Ethernet). Page 2
I am trying to fix my parent Samsung F6500 TV, which stopped connecting to the internet after a few weeks. Here’s my diagnosis: The TV does not connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet through its regular ISP. When I use my 4G phone as hotspot, the TV connects normally.
These are the solutions I’ve already tried, but they didn’t work:
I have no options and Smart Hub is useless now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Internet does not work on Samsung Smart TV
It happens that the TV connects to a wireless or cable network without any problems. But there is no internet access. In the browser, applications, some Smart TV functions, the Internet does not work. If you open the “Network Status”, you can see something like this:
Message: “Failed to connect to wired (wireless) network.” “The TV is connected to the local network, but the Internet connection could not be established.” And in the picture we see that there is a connection between the TV and the router, but not between the router and the Internet.
Of course, first of all we check if the Internet works through the router on other devices. If it works, turn off the power of the TV for 15 minutes. We reboot the router and try to reconnect.
If the problem has not been resolved, you need to try to register a static DNS server in the network settings on the Samsung TV.
We put “DNS settings” in the “Enter manually” mode. Below, enter the address 126.96.36.199 (these are public DNS from Google) and click Ok.
You can click on the “Retry” button. If the Internet connection does not appear, restart the TV (by turning off the power for a few minutes). Try to reset the network according to the instructions below. Check if the Internet will work when connected to another network.
On older Samsung TVs, Smart TV may not work (report that there is no network connection) due to problems accessing the company’s servers. There was information that Russian providers are blocking access to these servers. You can check this information with the support of your Internet service provider, or Samsung.

Samsung TV won’t connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi
The next problem is an error in the connection process. Errors are different. Most often they are associated with a password or Wi-Fi network security settings.
If, after selecting a Wi-Fi network and entering a password, you see an error “password is invalid”, “incorrect password”, etc., then be sure to make sure that you enter the password correctly. You can remember the password for your network according to the instructions on how to find out your password for Wi-Fi, or what to do if you forgot your password. The password must be at least 8 characters long. The large letter “A” in the password and the small “a” are different characters.
When entering a password, check the “Show password” checkbox to see what characters you enter.
Other reasons and solutions:
- Security Settings. The router’s parameters must be set to a modern type of security and encryption for the wireless network. Install WPA2-PSK.
- The current operating mode of the wireless network must also be set there. Either mixed mode (b / g / n) or “n only” (for a 2.4 GHz network). If anything, here’s the instruction: https://help-WI-FI.com/nastrojka-wi-fi-setej/rezhim-raboty-wi-fi-seti-bgn-ac-chto-eto-i-kak-smenit- v-nastrojkax-routera /
- A DHCP server must be enabled on the router. It is enabled by default, but if it is disabled for some reason, the TV will not be able to connect to the router. At least until you write static IP addresses on it.
- Perhaps the router is configured to filter devices by MAC addresses, or some other security functions. If you have configured something similar, then you need to check and disable / change the settings of these functions.
- If a Wi-Fi signal booster is installed, the TV may be trying to connect to it. This could be the reason Samsung TV is not connecting to the Internet.
Try connecting your Smart TV to a different network. If it connects, then the TV does not like your Wi-Fi network for some reason, and the solution needs to be looked for on the side of the router.
Change WI-FI REGION through the service menu of the Samsung TV
There is information that changing the letter in the “WI-FI REGION” settings in the TV service menu allows you to restore Wi-Fi operation.
Important! All the actions described below you do at your own peril and risk. Don’t change everything. Remember which parameters you change.
To open the service menu of a Samsung TV, you need to turn off the TV and use one of these combinations:
- Press the “Info” buttons quickly and consistently. “Menu”. “Mute”. “Power”.
- Press the “Menu” buttons quickly and consistently. “one”. “8”. “2”. “Power”.
In the service menu, we need to open the “Control” section.
We are interested in the item “WI-FI REGION”. You need to put the letter “A” in it. If it doesn’t help. set “B”.
Perhaps this solution will be useful to someone.
Samsung Smart TV can’t find Wi-Fi network
There may be two options: the TV does not see only our Wi-Fi network (and sees others), or it does not find any wireless network. At the same time, other devices in the same place find home and neighboring Wi-Fi networks.
Most often, of course, in the list of available networks on a Samsung TV, it is not our wireless network to which other devices are connected and work perfectly. If the TV does not find any networks (but they are displayed on other devices), then most likely this is a hardware problem with the TV, or there is no wireless module at all. Let’s return to the problem when the list does not contain one network we need.
You can click on the “Update” button. If it does not appear in the list, then first of all make sure that the router is distributing Wi-Fi (other devices can see the network). Perhaps the TV is installed far from the router and our wireless network simply does not catch near it. Or the signal is very bad. If possible, install the TV closer to the router. Reboot your router.
If this does not help, then change the channel of your Wi-Fi network in the router settings. How to do this, I wrote in the article on how to find a free Wi-Fi channel and change the channel on the router. Just go to the router settings and set a static channel. For example, the 6th. You can also experiment with the channel width and operating mode settings. Either “mixed” or “n only”. No “only g”, “b / g”.
After changing the settings, you need to save the changes and reboot the router.
Hard reset, or reset Smart Hub
You can perform a reset in the “Support”. “Self-diagnosis” section. The menu item is “Reset”. You may need to enter a password. Standard: 0000.
If you have a different menu and cannot find these settings, then see the instructions (for all series) on the Samsung website: https://www.Samsung.com/ru/support/TV-audio-video/how-do-i- reset-settings-on-my-Samsung-TV /
How To Fix a Samsung TV that Won’t Connect to WiFi
There you can also perform “Reset Smart Hub”.
On some TVs, the Smart Hub settings can be reset in the “Smart Hub”. “Reset Smart Hub” settings.
Samung has a lot of TV models, series, versions of the Smart TV system. They are all slightly different. It is almost impossible to make detailed instructions for all models.
I hope the Internet on your Samsung TV still works. If yes, please share what solution helped. Perhaps you have some useful information that is not in the article. If the Internet on the TV still does not work, write in the comments. Describe your problem in detail, what you have already tried to solve it and attach a photo of the error. Let’s look for a solution together. I will immediately add new and verified information to the article.
Is the adapter working?
To begin with, no matter how ridiculous it may sound, check if your TV has a built-in WI-FI module. Have you checked? If there is an adapter, let’s find out if it works using Samsung TV as an example:
- Through the menu we go to “Support”, then to “Contact Samsung”.
- If the MAC address section is empty (there are zeros or dashes), then the module is not working.
If this is the order, you are convinced that the adapter is working properly, then read on.
Checking the router
If the TV does not see the signal from the router, then the reasons for this may be in the settings of the router. To eliminate the malfunction, proceed as follows:
Samsung Smart TV: How to Reset Network (Problems with WiFi? Weak or No Signal )
- log in to the control panel;
- redirected to the “DHCP” subsection;
- check if the DHCP server is enabled.
It is recommended to check the security in the router parameters as well. If the client MAC address recognition feature is enabled, it should be disabled. How to do this depends on the brand of the router.
To find out the MAC address of your TV, you need:
- go to the “Installation” section;
- select the column “Network settings manually”;
- go to the subsection “View network settings”;
- click on the inscription “Start”.
For the LG TV, perform the following manipulations:
- go to the settings menu;
- redirected to the “Support” section;
- click on the inscription “Product Information”.
Moving the router
If the TV cannot connect to the Internet, the router may be in the wrong position. It is recommended to place the router closer to the receiver. You should also install the device so that there are no obstacles between the devices for signal transmission.
For any TV using a USB stick
To update the software using a USB flash drive, proceed as follows:
- log into the official website of the company and download a new version of the software;
- formatting the drive on a computer or laptop in the FAT32 system;
- copy the downloaded file to a USB flash drive;
- click on the text “Extract”, which starts unpacking the file;
- after the completion of the process, the USB flash drive is removed from the socket;
- the drive is installed in the TV connector;
- enter the device menu;
- redirected to the “Support” sub-item;
- go to the “Software update” tab;
- click on the inscription “Update now”;
- the system makes a request to update the data, after which the action is confirmed;
- the process of detecting the firmware on the flash drive starts, after which they click on the “Update” inscription.
After that, the software update process begins. When the procedure is complete, the instrument will automatically reboot.
Changing the connection method
If the TV has stopped connecting to WI-FI, it is recommended to select the method of connecting to the Internet using WPS technology. This helps to quickly access the Internet from the device. The WPS option is activated both on the TV and on the router. Thanks to this, the connection to the network will be established within a couple of minutes.
If the WPS option was used by default, but you cannot connect to the Internet, then it is recommended to set all parameters manually.
If the receiver does not connect to WI-FI, then it is recommended to reboot the router and the TV itself. To do this, remove the TV plug from the socket and put it back in a few seconds. The router is also turned off. After 20 seconds, the device is turned on. During this time, the Internet session will be interrupted and you can try to connect to the network.
If a Samsung TV does not connect to the Internet, then this option can help. If Samsung’s servers are overloaded, the network connection is lost. You can fix the problem if you specify your DNS servers in the appropriate settings (try 188.8.131.52 or 184.108.40.206). This will help you connect to WI-FI directly, bypassing the manufacturer’s options.
To find out the addresses of DNS servers, contact your provider.
