What is Safe Mode for?
Windows users have most likely encountered more than once when turning on the computer with a message asking if you want to continue booting in Safe Mode. There, this means loading the operating system almost naked, without those programs that are at startup, as well as with a minimum number of the most necessary drivers (no network, video. only in basic resolution).
The purpose of the safe mode on the TV is the same. Since it only functions on Smart TVs, this means that only the OS is loaded in the minimum configuration. No attachments. What does it give?
Typically, the BR starts up automatically if the system detects that some components are not working properly. The reason can be different. from improper shutdown of the device (for example, during a power outage) to the impact of malware. In any case, safe mode allows you to isolate the problem, and also provides the ability to remove programs and applications that cannot be eliminated in normal mode.
In short, this is a debug mode, which in most cases starts automatically, regardless of the wishes of the owner of the device. Sometimes such a launch is triggered by mistake. in such cases, it is enough to turn off the TV, smartphone or laptop and turn them on again so that the operating system continues to load normally. If the launch of the debug mode occurred due to the detection of errors, you need to take measures to detect and eliminate them. But here, too, not everything is so sad. often the errors turn out to be uncritical, practically not affecting the operation of the OS.
In this regard, it may be necessary to exit the TV from the debug mode, which can be difficult to do, the opposite situation also occurs. the need to launch the BR to eliminate the problems that have arisen.
Disabling Safe Mode on Xiaomi TV
Here, a tricky undocumented trick can work. pressing and holding the shutdown button, and as soon as the screen goes out, you need to press the volume button and, without releasing it, press the power button again until the splash screen appears.
How Safe Mode was enabled
If on a smartphone running Android OS, the reason for switching to safe mode can often be found from the notification curtain, and on a computer. during boot, then the TV often does not notify the reason for activating the debug mode. The owner is simply presented with a fact, and many Smart functions become unavailable. If turning off / on did not change anything, then leaving the BR becomes a problem, and the “smart TV” turns into its predecessor, who can only show channels.
Do I need to run to the specialists or update the firmware myself? In most cases, you can do without such drastic measures, as a result of which you have to perform the setup from the very beginning, and this is a job that can take several days.
How to remove Safe Mode on TV Haier
On Haier TVs, the standard way to exit Safe Mode, like on many others, is to factory reset. But in some cases this does not help, while most of the functions do not work, there may even be no image on the channels, and the message “The selected service is blocked” appears on the screen from time to time.
In such cases, you should try to reset the factory settings through the service menu, and if this does not work, you just have to contact the nearest Haier service center.
Why disable Safe Mode
So, your TV, for reasons unknown to you, began to work in safe mode. Usually, in such cases, they look for the cause, but it is far from always possible to determine it. In addition, there is a possibility that the TV was put into debug mode by mistake.
In any case, you get a device that actually lost the “Smart” prefix, and it was for this that you bought the TV, right? That is, you will no longer be able to use either already installed applications or new ones. Isn’t that a good reason to exit debug mode?
But how safe is it for the TV? You can be sure that nothing threatens the physical health of TV. If there is a software failure, moreover, a serious one, if the problem arose due to the incompatibility of one of the applications with OS versions, if the result of the transition is the impact of viruses, then in the future the situation may repeat itself, and then it will be necessary to look for the cause. In the meantime, why not turn off the mode in which the TV cannot be called complete?
How to disable safe (service) mode on a Samsung TV
Stick to the following simple algorithm:
- reset the TV using the remote control and the system menu;
- when an animation appears on the screen, you must press the decrease in sound intensity (-) button on the remote control and hold it down until the animation disappears;
- as a result, at the bottom left of the screen, the inscription “Safe Mode” will appear and disappear.
How to remove Safe Mode on Sony TVs
And now about the reset. It depends on the state of your TV:
- the main screen is displayed;
- when loading, it does not reach the main screen.
If there is a home screen, it is recommended to back up the channel list (satellite or IPTV) before resetting. At least this part of the work will not have to be done again.
How to factory reset Sony:
- turn on the television receiver;
- press the Home button on the remote control;
- in the main menu, select the “Settings” item;
- go to the “Storage and reset” tab;
- click on the line “Reset to factory settings”;
- select the option “Erase everything”.
Some models will require a password to reset the settings. the one used for Parental Control.
If, when you turn on the TV, the main screen is not displayed, and it does not respond to pressing the Home button, you need to perform the following sequence of actions:
- turn on the television receiver;
- press the Help button on the remote control;
- the menu of the section “How to use a Sony TV” will start, select the item “Reference Guide” in it;
- go to the “Settings” submenu;
- sequentially select the items “TV setup”, “TV”, “Settings”;
- click on the line “Storage and reset”;
- select, like the instructions above, the item “Reset to factory settings” and the parameter “Erase everything”.
Enter the Parental Control password if required.
Shutdown and restart of smartphones Samsung Galaxy A31, A41, A51, A71, M21, M31, M31s, M51, S20, S20 Plus, S20 Ultra and others
With the release of its own voice assistant, the specialists of the South Korean company had a need to assign the launch of Bixby to one of the physical keys. Initially, the function was the privilege of flagship models. they were equipped with a dedicated button responsible for calling the built-in voice assistant.
Modern Samsung smartphones, both flagships and mid-range devices, are also equipped with the Bixby assistant, but lack a separate key for interacting with it. Samsung decided to abandon the fourth button on smartphone cases, assigning the Bixby call to one of the familiar keys. For this purpose, the power button was chosen and, for sure, not by chance. Most likely, the power-lock key received a new function due to the desire of Samsung engineers to improve the ergonomics of mobile devices.
Since holding the lock key for a few seconds began to call the Bixby voice assistant, the developers of the Samsung One UI firmware had to reassign the shutdown and restart of the device to a combination of two buttons. The same keyboard shortcut is used to force restart the frozen phone.
The innovation has been implemented in all Samsung smartphones and tablets released in the second half of 2019 and early 2020. Turning off or restarting such a mobile device is performed as follows:
First, you need to simultaneously hold the power button and the volume down key for a few seconds.
After the screen displays a vertical menu consisting of three options, you must select the required action (shutdown or restart) and confirm its execution by clicking on the corresponding icon again. Depending on the option selected, the smartphone will turn off or restart.
There is another way to reboot and turn off your mobile device. you need to open the quick settings panel by making a swipe down from the top edge of the screen and click on the switch icon. Then you should select the required action.
The procedure for turning on the phone has remained the same. just hold the power key for a couple of seconds until the Samsung logo appears on the display, and then enter the PIN code of the SIM card and unlock the device.
What to do if your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet is frozen and unresponsive
If your mobile device freezes, you need to perform a forced reboot. To do this, simultaneously press the power button and the volume down key and hold them for 7-10 seconds, after which the device turns off and on again. On some older models, you need to additionally hold down the volume up key.
To restart a Samsung smartphone with a removable battery, just remove the back cover, pull out the battery, then insert it back, hold down the power button and hold it until the Samsung logo appears on the display.
How to turn off or force restart your Samsung Galaxy smartphone
By purchasing one of the new Samsung phones (including Galaxy A11, A21, A21s, A31, A41, A51, A71, M11, M21, M31, M31s, M51, S20, S20, S20 Ultra and others) and trying to turn it off for the first time or reboot, an ordinary user will encounter certain difficulties. On smartphones 2019-2020 Release, a long press of the power button brings up the Bixby voice assistant, and not a menu with options, which usually include shutdown, restart and activation of emergency mode. How, then, to restart a frozen device, or how to turn it off in the standard way? We understand all the intricacies within the framework of this instruction.
How to take a screenshot
Astute readers may have noticed that the keyboard shortcut for restarting or shutting down new Samsung Galaxy phones is the same as the “classic” button combination used for taking screenshots. How do you take screenshots then? It’s simple. you need to press the same buttons, but do not hold them, but immediately release them.
There will be a clicking sound similar to the sound of a camera shutter, and the display will turn white for a fraction of a second. At the bottom of the screen, a panel with additional options for managing the captured screenshot will be displayed. In a few seconds, the panel will “hide”.

Depending on the model
The basic setting does not differ from model to model. There will be 5 components in the menu, and the method of setting them is the same. We just need to go to the menu, select the settings and set the required values. The only difference can be in the interface. But the basic appearance is the same (black and white stripes for brightness, gray and white for contrast).
Test pictures will differ. There are two types of photographs:
- Monochrome. They are needed to check the correct functioning of the pixels on the monitor.
- Colored. To check the correct operation of the color stripes.
Attention! The image format most often differs depending on the model. For example, some devices require Full HD, and some Ultra HD 4K.
Adjusting the picture and sound
When it comes to how to adjust the picture or adjust the volume, many users run into problems. This is actually very easy to do. You will need a remote control.
Often, the picture is too dark or light, to adjust the optimal color reproduction, go to the appropriate settings. Open the service menu by pressing the button on the remote control, and then go to the “Image” section.
- by changing the contrast, the user adjusts the ratio of dark and light tones;
- clarity allows you to get rid of the blur effect, the sharpness of the image is adjusted;
- adjusting the brightness will make the picture darker or lighter, depending on the situation;
- color correction allows you to make the image as saturated as possible.
Correctly adjusted color rendition will provide the best possible picture quality. Samsung TVs also allow advanced picture adjustments, but this command is more suitable for advanced users.
Also, a few words need to be said about how the sound is tuned. Believe me, this parameter affects viewing no less than image adjustments. Go to the service menu, namely the “Settings” tab, and then select the “Sound” subsection, here you need to select “Quality and method of sound transmission”.
Newer models of television equipment are equipped with additional functionality for adjusting sound parameters. First off, EQ, Dolby and Surround Mode should be noted.
The speaker system of absolutely all TV models has individual characteristics, which undoubtedly need to be taken into account in order to properly adjust the sound. Each parameter in the final score affects the overall sound.
Of course, Smart TV models are equipped with a more detailed system of sound and picture settings, so the user will be able to adjust the operation of the television equipment for himself. When adjusting the picture, open the image and compare by it how much the template you created differs from the default parameters.
This is actually all. We examined all the subtleties of Samsung TV settings and gave specific recommendations that will allow you to choose the optimal settings.
One of the most important characteristics of a TV when choosing is the value of the contrast of the image on the TV screen. If you choose a TV for picture quality, then be sure to pay attention to the contrast value of different models.
By definition, contrast is equal to the ratio of the brightness at the lightest point on the screen to the brightness of the point where the darkest image is. In other words, divide the white level by the black level and get the contrast. Only here the values of these levels can be obtained only with a special check of the TV using specialized devices. Therefore, an ordinary user has to believe either manufacturers or various reviews on sites where TVs are tested. Who to trust more and how contrast is checked, and let’s talk further.
We said that contrast is one of the most important characteristics of a TV. Therefore, manufacturers try to maximize this value to improve sales. The manufacturer can measure the brightness of a pixel in the laboratory when a signal is applied that is never used in real conditions. Then measure the brightness of this pixel in the absence of a signal, which is impossible during normal viewing. The contrast value is then calculated. And the values measured under such conditions are included in the product passport. Because of this, we see today that the contrast values of many TVs are simply off scale. All this is possible because in the world there are no binding rules for measuring display contrast.
Separate static (natural) and dynamic contrast. Natural contrast depends only on the capabilities of the display, and dynamic is obtained as a result of the use of additional technologies.
Static contrast is measured by the brightness of points in one scene (brightest and darkest). When measuring dynamic contrast, technologies are used to overestimate it. The TV itself, during video playback, adjusts the contrast depending on the scene that is currently shown on the screen. That is, the backlight in the LCD matrix is regulated. When displaying a bright scene, the luminous flux from the backlight increases. And when the scene changes to dark (night, dark room, etc.), then the backlight begins to reduce its luminous flux. It turns out that in bright scenes, due to the increase in light from the backlight, the black level is poor, and in dark scenes, the black level is good, but the luminous flux will decrease. It’s hard for us to notice, because in bright scenes, backlit black appears completely black. And in dark scenes, the brightness of light objects seems to be sufficient. Such a feature of human vision.
This backlight control scheme increases contrast, although not as much as the manufacturers claim. Indeed, many TVs with dynamic contrast ratio outperform devices that do not have such an adjustment scheme in terms of image quality.
But displays with high natural contrast will still be appreciated higher. This can be demonstrated by displaying a picture with white text on a black background. On a high static contrast screen, the text will indeed be white and the background will be black. But the display with high dynamic contrast, if it shows a black background, the letters will already be gray. Therefore, when playing a normal video on a screen with increased natural contrast, the picture will be as close as possible to the real image. For example, against the background of the evening sky, there will be bright street lights. And against the background of the bright daytime sky, a black car will indeed be black. This is the image we see in cinemas.
The most realistic, in contrast, the image was on the screens of CRT TVs. But with the advent of the HDTV era, these receivers have given way to other devices in the market. Today, high natural contrast values are achieved with LCOS home projectors. The first place among these devices is occupied by JVC devices with their version of D-ILA. Next up is Sony with SXRD technology. Plasma TVs can already be placed in third place.
LCD TV manufacturers have implemented several technologies in recent years to achieve the same level of contrast that is possible with other models. The best results in enhancing contrast are obtained by using LED backlighting with local dimming. At the same time, it is impossible to adjust the backlighting of each pixel and there is no control of each LED separately, but the result is still good. But manufacturers have abandoned the most efficient type of backlighting when LEDs are located across the entire screen area. This production turned out to be expensive. Today, the so-called side lighting is mainly used. Here the LEDs are located at the top and bottom. Local dimming schemes have also been developed for side lighting. TVs with such a backlight show fairly good results in terms of contrast.
There are several techniques for measuring contrast. First, a black field is fed to the input and the brightness is measured, and then a white field is measured and the brightness is measured. The contrast is good, but in real viewing it will never be completely white or completely black. At the same time, when displaying a normal video signal on the TV, video processing is turned on, which also makes its own changes. truthful readings are given by the ANSI test, when a checkerboard with white and black fields is presented to the screen. This is more in line with the normal image. However, the white fields will affect the measurement of the brightness value of the black fields. So there is no single correct method for measuring contrast.
So the recommendations for choosing a TV with good contrast remain the same. If you will be watching mostly movies in a shaded room, plasma is best. In a lit room, LCD TV with LED backlighting will show good results due to its high brightness. An LCD TV can be placed between these models if there is a margin for light output. And the main thing to remember is that any TV needs to be set up correctly. Adjust the brightness and contrast of the machine correctly to obtain the best picture quality.

It is the auto-tuning function that is the reason that many experts define Samsung TV-equipment as the “smartest” among all on the market. Each user will be able to automatically tune TV programs, arrange them alphabetically.
First you need to choose a signal source: antenna, cable, satellite. Some Smart TV models are offered to the user by the most popular providers: NTV, Telekarta, Rostelecom, Tricolor. If you want to use the services of the listed operators, the channels will be found automatically and arranged according to the traditional order.
After completing autotuning, select the programs of a specific provider. They will be arranged in accordance with the settings of the TV broadcast operator. To change the location of channels, use the “Move” function:
- Press the Main Menu button on the remote control.
- Then select the command “Broadcast” it is presented in the form of a white satellite dish icon.
- Scroll down until we come across the command “Change the channel number”, activate it by selecting “Enable”.
- To go to the next step, return to the “Home” tab, and then open the “Broadcasts” section again, press to the right and select the “Change” command.
- Select the channel, the location of which you would like to change, select it with a tick, and then click on “Change number”.
You can start automatic search without a remote control. If you are using LCD TV Smart TV, then you can enable auto-tuning using a keyboard, mouse, or the most ordinary smartphone. Conventional TVs can be configured via the navigation buttons located on the front of the device.
To re-tune TV channels on an already old Samsung TV model manually, without calling the wizard, you need to take into account several extremely important nuances at once:
- old models differ from new ones in a complex and incomprehensible interface, because of this problems arise;
- outdated TVs are not equipped with an auto-tuning function;
- old Samsung TVs are not capable of broadcasting high-definition images.
Manual tuning involves changing many important basic parameters. Sometimes this scares off users, although in fact there is nothing difficult about it, you just need to adjust the frequency correctly, you definitely cannot break the TV.
How do I tune my TV manually? Follow the simple step-by-step instructions:
- Open the main menu, and then go to the “Antenna” section.
- We select “Setting manually”. “Setting up digital TV channels”.
- Click on “Create”, as a result of which a window will open with additional indicators: purity, module, transfer.
- First you need to set the following parameters 170,000 kHz, 128 QAM and 6900 KS / s.
- The TV will tune in for a certain time while searching for channels. Images will change, and TV footage will start to appear.
- After finishing, you need to click on the “Save” button, after which a window will appear for adjusting the frequency, module and transmission, leave the last parameters unchanged, but indicate a new frequency. 178000 kHz, start the search again.
In this way, the sound and picture quality can also be significantly improved by making them very clear. Go to the menu and select the “Image” section, and then arbitrarily adjust the clarity, brightness, contrast and other parameters.
You can also sort the channels manually. To do this, open the main menu, and then go to the “Broadcast” section. Check the boxes next to the required programs. Here you can also add your favorite channels to favorites or save the current arrangement.
What parameters to set when setting up
There are common mistakes when setting up a picture. If you allow them, the picture will be of poor quality. Errors concern all five components of the pictures. Therefore, we set the following parameters:
- Adjust the aspect ratio or size of the image. Place two whole triangles correctly. Wrong if one of the corners is cut.
- Brightness. Consists of several black cells. The correct option is if all the cells have a different tone, from black to white. Wrong if the same.
- Contrast. Consists of several gray cells. The correct option is if all gray cells are of a different tone from gray to white. Wrong if the same.
- Color or saturation. The picture will be in the form of human skin. Several shades will be presented, choose the one that suits. It is wrong if the skin of a person is unnatural, for example, red.
- Focus. He is responsible for the sharpness and clarity of the image. That’s right, if we see all the lines as accurately as possible. Wrong if we only see a few lines.
How to set up channels
The correct way of setting should start with the channels, having installed which, you can proceed to the next steps. After installing the language more familiar to the Russian-speaking user, setting up the channel list will seem like a very simple task for everyone:
- you need to go to the menu;
- select the settings item;
- then click on the button Search and configure channels;
- choose manual method or automatic setting.
If you choose the second option, all channels on the TV will be tuned automatically. The user will only need to follow the process while Samsung independently searches for all available channels and assigns them names.
After the end of the search, it will be possible to rename certain channels using the standard menu. When the device finishes scanning all available bands, the first channel found will turn on automatically. Then the user will be able to view the entire list using the corresponding buttons on the remote control. If you are using an external device, you need to adjust it yourself, especially when it comes to a satellite receiver. To do this, you need to select a special source of information intended for TV by clicking on the Sourse button. You can learn more about digital channel settings for Samsung TV in this article.
Updating and restoring
We found out how to upload YouTube to Samsung Smart TV. Now let’s figure out how the software is updated when it stops functioning normally.
On the service page that opens, there is an “update” button, which you just have to click on, and the video hosting will be downloaded to the TV on its own.
There is a second option, how to find YouTube on a Samsung TV, is to use the software settings. How to make black screen disappear from YouTube on Samsung? You will have to enter the TV menu and select the basic settings, in which the software uninstall section is located. Find the required application in the list, update it.
Let’s say a few words about how to watch YouTube on Samsung TVs released in 2012 and earlier. Due to constant updates, the application on such Samsung TVs has frozen, as outdated modifications are not able to provide the service with new characteristics and capabilities.
But there is no reason for concern, because there is a way how to reboot YouTube on a Samsung TV. You will have to act like this:
- by pressing the App key, turn on Smart;
- after that, in the line intended for specifying the login, we enter “develop”. The empty line for the password is filled in independently;
- further, to set up YouTube on an old TV, put a check mark next to the “remember password” section. We carry out similar actions at the inscription “automatic entry”;
- press the “enter” button;
- on the TV control panel, press the “tools” button, after which a menu with settings will open. Here we select the “development” section, accept the conditions, click the “ok” button;
- change the settings of the server IP address using the numeric combination 22.214.171.124;
- we confirm our own actions through the “ok” key, go to the item “synchronization of user applications”, wait at least five minutes until the download is complete.
All that remains is to exit Smart Hub and reopen it, after which an updated application, known as Fork Player, will appear on the screen. To view video materials, it must be turned on, then a list of sites containing a large amount of video content will appear. These include an analogue of the YouTube app for Samsung Smart TV.
Installation and activation
Recall that such a device is produced by a Korean manufacturer. The work of technology is provided by the Tizen operating system, so YouTube does not need additional downloads, since it is one of the pre-installed services. However, not every Samsung TV is capable of supporting Smart. Such device capabilities are specified in the technical documentation included in the delivery set.
If the specified function is available, you can start the Internet on the TV, choosing a connection method taking into account the circumstances. Perhaps a wired connection will be used, or the connection will provide stable Wi-Fi. After that, open the Smart TV menu, select the YouTube icon, click on it to find the required video material. When you sign in with Google, you will find the video selections saved by your account.
Remember that they only watch videos on TV, writing comments and leaving likes is not possible. You have access to such actions if you logged in using a computer or mobile phone.
When the above method, how to set up YouTube on a Samsung TV, for some reason did not work, use another option, how to enable hosting:
- for a start, the software in question is downloaded to a third-party device. PC, tablet, laptop;
- a separate folder is created on the flash drive. It contains the archived data of the previously downloaded application;
- the drive is installed into the USB connector on the TV, Smart Hub starts;
- in the list that opens, the YouTube application is selected.
After downloading YouTube to Samsung Smart TV, it is recommended to connect it to a mobile device or personal computer to ensure a comfortable use. You can open videos through the connected gadget, and view them on the TV screen.
- open the program on a PC or smartphone by clicking the “view on TV” button;
- on the TV, we find the “bind device” section of the menu;
- a code will appear, which should be entered in a special column and click the “add” button. Binding of gadgets will be confirmed by the appearance of the corresponding icon;
- before watching YouTube on your Samsung Smart TV, click on this icon and activate the views.

Force blackout on select LG TVs
Many users of LG TVs released in recent years still experience screen dimming in darker scenes even after turning off the power saving feature. As an owner of LG TV (model from the end of 2014), I can only confirm this, unfortunately.
This is due to the fact that in these models in the service menu of the TV the option “Dimming” is always enabled, which reduces the backlight of the screen in darker scenes, possibly to hide the weaker blacks.
This can be seen in situations such as the following screenshot from the character creation menu in Bloodborne on Playstation 4.
As long as most of the screen is filled with colors or lighter shades, the screen remains highlighted. But as soon as additional menu claps are in the game, which, for example. In the middle of the screen, a black or very dark background with a list of options is displayed, the entire screen is darkened because the television detects a large black color.
The same thing happens in films, for example, during scenes in dark rooms or at night. The solution is to disable the “Dimming” option by going to the service menu.
How to turn off Auto Screen dimming on LG TV
Do you have an LG TV that automatically dims the screen in darker scenes while playing or watching movies? This is the so-called “dimming” function, which can be deactivated accordingly via the service menu. Here’s how to do it.
Most TVs with an IPS or PLS matrix have an automatic brightness control function. The screen appears to be dominated by dark colors, the TV automatically dims the backlight level, and the picture is dimmed. After switching to a lighter scene, the screen returns to normal, i.e. to custom settings.
On most TVs, this can be turned off through the settings by turning off the power saving feature. In LG TVs, however, this is often used and changing the settings does not always help. Let’s see why this is happening and how to disable it.
Why does my TV screen dim automatically?
One of the reasons is energy conservation. TVs try to reduce energy use by reducing screen backlighting in scenes that are still very dark because they are dominated by blacks. They can also do this based on external brightness sensors (for example, on Samsung TVs, this option is called “ECO sensor”). When the room is dark, the TV will dim because a high level is not so important. These types of options can usually be turned off in the TV settings by disabling all power saving features.
However, this is not all. Auto dimming in dark scenes is mainly due to the characteristics of the IPS or PLS matrices used in most TVs over the past few years. Such matrices have obvious advantages. wide viewing angles or pleasant color reproduction. They also have a rather big drawback, which is poor black reproduction and uneven screen illumination (compared, for example, with VA panels), which is most noticeable in dark scenes.
Manufacturers of TVs using IPS or PLS matrices try to “hide” this disadvantage by forcing the brightness to be reduced in scenes in which very dark colors prevail. When the screen brightness level is lowered, you may not be able to see very weak black or uneven backlighting. However, this is annoying when playing or watching movies, where the screen dims and brightens depending on what is shown on the TV.
How to deal with this? First of all, enter the usual TV settings, and then turn off all the power saving functions, automatic brightness control, eye care and the like with the “Eco” entry. However, this does not always help, as seen on some LG TVs.
Turning off the screen backlight on your LG TV using the service menu
Attention! You do this at your own peril and risk. The service menu is not intended for the general user as it has many parameters that affect the operation of the TV. Disabling the “dimming” option will not cause any problems, but be careful not to change anything else.
The easiest way to enter the service menu is to use a smartphone or tablet with an infrared sensor (IrDA). Contrary to the looks, quite a few Android devices have this option (paradoxically, we often find it in slightly older than newer models). Once you have an IrDA device, download the AnyMote app.
Download AnyMote Universal Remote from Play Store
After launching AnyMote, you must add a new remote control. On the Add New Device screen, select the TV option. Search and select LG from the list of available TV brands.
Then you need to select the type of remote control. Select the one marked as “Service console”. This is a remote control that allows you to activate the service menu.
It is necessary to enter a service menu indicating the source on the screen for which we want to disable screen dimming (for example, HDMI1 for a decoder or HDMI2 for a console). If you disable the “Dimming” feature on an “empty channel” then it will still work while watching movies or playing on the console. Therefore, turn on the movie or run the game during all settings so that the image is displayed in the background when you call the service menu.
Point your smartphone at the TV, then tap “IN-START” at the virtual remote control in the AnyMote app. The TV screen will ask for a PIN code to access the service menu.
Enter PIN code 0413 using your regular TV remote control. The service menu appears on the screen. Use the arrows on the regular remote control to navigate to the System 1 tab.
