One tap to display smartphone screen on TV
Tap View is a new feature in 2020. Just click on the TV with your phone and its display will be displayed on the TV.
Settings must be done in advance
Check if Smart View of the TV is enabled (Settings General External Device Manager Connection Manager Access Notification).
Setting up Tap View on your device
Open the SmartThings app on your phone and tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines).
Tap the Settings icon and enable Toggle view or sound
Bring your phone closer to the TV and then tap Allow on the phone screen.
- To use Tap View, please update SmartThings app to version 1.745 or higher. It can be downloaded from Google
Play Store or Apple App Store.
- When broadcasting a smartphone screen to a TV, the power saving mode must be disabled.

Smart View Connection
This is the easiest way to display your smartphone screen on a TV over Wi-Fi. Follow these steps to transfer an image using Smart View.
Swipe down from the top to open the quick settings panel, tap on the Smart View icon.
Select your TV from the list of available devices (depending on your TV, you may need to enter a PIN).
Click Start on the pop-up message.
If the picture on the TV is reduced, you can change the aspect ratio.
Open Smart View click Options (three vertical dots).
Tap Settings Phone screen aspect ratio.
Select Full screen on the connected device to make it full screen.
If you prefer to switch to full screen on the connected device whenever Smart View displays your phone screen, you can remember this setting. Please note that this may cause some applications to restart.
- Mobile phone and TV must be connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- Check if Smart View is allowed on the TV (Settings General External Device Manager Connection Manager Access Notification).
Connecting via SmartThings App
You can also mirror your screen through the SmartThings app by following these steps.
Turn on SmartThings app and select TV.
Click on Options (three vertical dots) click on Mirror Screen (Smart View).
Connecting using a DeX cable or HDMI cable
Image can also be dubbed using DeX or USB-C to HDMI cable.
Connect a DeX cable or USB-C to HDMI cable to the appropriate adapter.
Connect the other end of the cable to a port on your TV.
Connect the HDMI adapter to your device’s USB port.
Tap on screen mirroring notification in the notification bar.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the setup of your device.
Note: Screen mirroring starts automatically on some models.
