Therefore, sometimes you just need recommendations on how to make the same setting.

I will note right away that I will not consider old TVs. their settings are obvious, but more modern TVs raise a lot of questions, and not the most obvious ones. It’s hard to believe, but one of the most popular requests from service centers is an application for setting up a channel list. Many of my former colleagues even made a separate, albeit small, but business on this.

Closer partnerships, more information

Edit / transfer channels Channel list

I just bought a brand new 2017 Smart TV UE55MU6120 in the UK.

All my previous Samsung TVs had the ability to edit the channel list, like moving all HD channels to the top of the list, so when I press 1 I get BBC 1 HD, when I press 2 I get BBC 2 HD, etc.

If I go to the Channel List. Edit channels, “Rename Channel” option will be grayed out

Why this feature is not available?

I tried to edit the channel list by going to Settings. “Broadcast”. “Expert settings”. “Send channel list”

Export channel list via USB, edit the list on my PC, then import via USB

This works, but when the TV is turned off at night and turned on the next morning, it reverts to the standard channel list

How to rescan antenna channels on a Samsung TV

If you just bought a new TV or are rescanning for NewsChannel 5, follow the instructions below. Got a different brand of TV? Go to our antenna house and choose the TV model you have.

There are several dozen models of Samsung TVs. The instructions below are for the most popular models, but may not work for all.

Each TV manufacturer uses a different term to describe rescan. Most Samsung TVs call their rescan feature “Auto Program” or “Auto Tuning”

TRY THIS FIRST. If you’ve gone into TV settings before, these instructions will help you rescan your TV.

Select “Menu” on the remote control
2. Select the “Channel” or “Broadcast” menu. (The exact name of the menu will differ depending on your model)
3. Select “Automatic program”
4. If you are prompted to scan for Air or Cable, select Air. (Many TVs may not prompt and will scan both automatically)

How to set up?

So, modern smart TVs are pretty obvious to set up. But channel sorting on Samsung TV is not in the obvious place, which makes it difficult for users. You can deal with this problem simply by clearly following the instructions. By analogy, you can customize any Samsung TV.

  • We enter the TV Menu. Button of the same name on the remote control.
  • We select the item “Broadcast” in this menu.
  • Scroll down the list using the navigation buttons. It is important to remember that you can only change the channel number after automatic channel tuning. At this point, click on “Change channel number” and activate this function.
  • Now we select the item “Change channels”. Before us opens a menu that allows you to move channels. In it, select the channel of interest and press the button “Change. Rooms “.
  • Now we can move this channel to a different location. It is important to know that channels that have a name are digital and when you move one to another, they just change places. And if the channel does not have a name, it is analog and moving it will move the remaining channels down.

So, it’s not hard to see that rearranging channels on Samsung TVs is not a difficult task. It is enough to show this procedure to a person a couple of times, and he can easily repeat it.

Think it doesn’t work with grandparents? Ha, in my experience of working for a provider, it was this category that wrote down the order of actions on a piece of paper least of all repeated calls. But younger people paid twice, and sometimes three times. And with the instructions on hand, many figured out on their own. Special knowledge is not needed here, it is enough to know that all this can be found and done.

The frequency may vary depending on the region of residence, which should be taken into account when searching. Check with the service provider for the channel settings of the cable operators;
  • then, after setting the “Full” and “Digital Channels” marks, the search starts;
  • To save the results, click “OK”.

Can’t you do it in a simpler way? I have only 40 channels, but I’m tired of doing this, and advice to everyone. after auto-tuning, immediately rename from the first channel, because Do you want to. For example, if you want the first button to be, for example, the NTV channel, then find it first in the list and then everything as written above. If you do not from the first channel, the remaining channels (which) have already been renumbered will be lost (for example, channel 4 will already become 5 or 6)

The button on the “Smart hub” remote control, then at the bottom, select the “channel” application, then on the right in the corner there is a barely noticeable menu next to the antenna, just editing channels. Click, select the channel with a daw, edit. Just do not touch to delete the channel, otherwise it will drop out of the list, it is better to block.
Awful analog setup of course. Agree.

It turned out not quite so for me, but the initial hint helped. Then he acted by the method of a noch poke. On the UE32ES6500, I pressed “Smart hab” (the colored button in the center of the remote control), selected the “channel” application, marked the channel with a daw, found the “tools” icon at the bottom of the screen and pressed the TOOLS button on the remote control (it also has the tools icon) and a window opened. The window displayed: Change favorites, change channel numbers, sort, block, delete and something else. I chose “change channels”, set the required number to the channel, pressed “ok” and the channels were swapped. Sorting here is dreary, either by number or by name. On Phillips, it’s easier for me, there I raised the channel up or down the list and that’s it.

If you need to change the order

You can change the order only if the TV has placed the channels itself. If the TV has received the channel order from the TV company, you will not be able to move channels.

  • Digital. This option has a large number of advantages compared to analog, therefore, it gradually replaces the outdated signal transmission method. At the same time, users often have problems with programming the TV and sorting channels.
  • Satellite. This method of signal reception is considered the most popular. Its main advantage is high image quality and ease of setup. Among the shortcomings, they highlight the inability to watch encoded channels for free.
  • IPTV. The most modern option that allows you to watch your favorite programs via wired Internet or WI-FI. It can be implemented on any Smart TVs or using a special set-top box. In this case, the most complex setting is provided, which not every person can correctly perform.
