Setting up the TV when connected to a computer
We figured out how the computer is configured when connected to a TV via HDMI. Now is the time to review the TV setup procedure. The user only needs to perform one SIMple action. switch the signal source. By default, TV broadcasts digital or analogue signal.
The TV remote control mainly has a dedicated button that opens the list of signal sources. Select HDMI from the available options. If there is no separate button, then go to the main menu and find the Signal Source parameter there. You can connect not only a TV set to a computer, but also several displays at once. Now let’s analyze how to set up monitors with HDMI connection.
What you need to connect your computer and TV
How is PC to TV connected via HDMI? To synchronize equipment you will need:
- HDMI wire;
- computer and TV equipped with an HDMI connector;
- adapter if the technician does not need an input.
Now let’s take a step-by-step look at how to display an image on a large screen. First you need to insert the cable plugs into the corresponding connectors. We insert one end of the wire into the computer port, and the other into the TV connector. When the user has completed the connection, the setup needs to be done.
Turn on the TV and computer if they were previously turned off. When Windows boots up, you can start setting up your connection. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop. In the context menu that opens, select the “Screen resolution” command. A settings dialog box will appear. You need to find the optimal resolution for the big screen.
According to the default settings, the operating system automatically selects the maximum resolution. However, due to the high resolution, the font will be extremely small. It’s almost impossible to read it. This will create additional inconvenience if you plan to watch movies with subtitles.
Each user will be able to independently change the resolution. However, choosing a non-standard resolution may cause the picture to be disproportionately displayed on the large TV display. This is due to the matrix scaling according to the settings.
When you figured out the screen resolution, open the menu with additional settings, which is located on the “Monitor” tab. Specify the refresh rate your TV will support. To do this, use the drop-down list from the “Screen refresh rate” item. Select one of the suggested values.
Be sure to adjust the color rendering. To do this, use the “True Color (32 bit)” parameter. Do not forget to select the TV connected to the PC in the “Monitor Type” tab. When you change one or another parameter, a dialog box opens in which you can apply or cancel the specified values. Be extremely careful, if the image is too stretched or squashed, then cancel the set parameters.
What are HDMI connectors and adapters
The HDMI interface is constantly evolving. The developers are improving it. Therefore, the user should be aware of the existing modifications of this connector. The new version of the interface will not always be significantly superior to the previous one. Sometimes the differences are so insignificant that the average user may not even notice the difference.
Backward compatibility technology is actively used by manufacturers. The bottom line is that each new modification has a list of the functionality of its predecessor. How do I identify different versions of the HDMI standard? Firstly, each modification has a specific marking. Secondly, they may differ externally.
Let’s take a look at some of the most common versions of HDMI connectors:
- Deep Color. suitable for setting up a connection between a computer and a TV, which has an extremely rich palette of colors.
- v.Color. uses a range of colors not available to RGB TVs.
- Standard. a connector that supports this option will provide signal transmission with a resolution of 1080p at a distance of up to 15 meters.
- High speed. designed to transmit a signal with a resolution of 1080p, but at a distance of up to 7.5 meters.
When preparing to set up a connection, keep in mind that the type of HDMI cable plays a huge role. For example, some versions allow you to transmit a signal with Full HD resolution, while older versions, on the contrary, are designed to broadcast images with not the best quality.
In situations where an LG TV or a device from another company is hung on the wall, traditional cable connections are incredibly difficult to implement. This is due to the fact that there is a minimum distance between the back cover of the TV, on which the HDMI connector is mainly located, and the wall.
Users planning to connect several devices to TV via HDMI at once buy a so-called switcher. Switcher. an adapter that allows you to connect multiple signal sources to one connector.
Continuing the topic of adapters, we note that not all TVs and computers are equipped with an HDMI interface. In such cases, special adapters are purchased: VGA-HDMI, DVI-HDMI, USB-HDMI, etc.
Setting up multiple displays
To broadcast a picture on a TV, PC and an additional monitor, you need to use the option to display the image on multiple screens. To do this, you need to find the “Monitor type” section in the settings, and then select the appropriate option from the drop-down list. For example, from the list offered by the operating system, you can choose “duplicate display” or “desktop extension”. In the first case, the same desktop will be shown on all connected devices SIMultaneously.
For the picture to be displayed correctly, it is advisable to have monitors of the same format (16: 9 or 4: 3) at your disposal. Otherwise, the image will be distorted on one of the devices.
All monitors can be swapped if necessary. To do this, go to the settings window. As a result, their numbering will be changed. To save the changes made, click on the “Apply” button. To make sure that the extended desktop is working correctly, place the mouse cursor on the edge of the screen. Once the cursor is on the border, it will appear on another screen.
When the TV is connected to a PC, you can adjust the refresh rate as well as the screen resolution for all connected devices. Customization is done using the GPU. NVIDIA, AMD GPU modules have their own settings menu for all connected monitors.
To proceed to setting the basic parameters, right-click on an empty space on the desktop. If your system unit is equipped with a GeForce card, then select “NVIDIA Control Panel” from the drop-down list. In the dialog box that appears, select the screens that you plan to use in the future.
Instructions for connecting TV to PC via HDMI
Can I play content online without Smart TV? Yes, but for this you have to set up the synchronization of TV with a PC that is connected to the Internet. Now let’s look at how to connect a TV to a computer via HDMI to watch movies, TV shows, and photos on the big screen.
Benefits of connecting via HDMI
Why is my TV connected to my computer via HDMI? This method has several significant advantages:
- SIMultaneous transmission of audio and signal;
- high image quality. Full HD;
- maximum SIMplicity of the connection process;
- clear sound without interference;
- modern TVs, laptops, computers are equipped with this connector;
- insignificant cable cost.
There are other ways to connect a plasma to a computer. However, if you use outdated connectors, the image quality will be noticeably inferior to HDMI. Therefore, it is not surprising that users prefer this type of synchronization. To disconnect a TV connected via HDMI to a PC, you just need to pull out the cable, and then change the signal source to TV.
Outputting sound to TV
To play clear and surround sound, you need the system unit to be equipped with a sound card supporting High Definition Audio. How can I check this? Go to Device Manager and then select the Sound, Game and Devices tab. There is an alternative way to check for HD audio support. Right-click on the speaker icon located in the system tray. Select the “Volume Mixer” section, and then open the list of devices in the “Speakers” menu. The list should contain the inscription “Realtek Digital Output”. Check the box next to this line to output HD audio.
Some TVs are not capable of playing sound when connected to a PC. To a greater extent, this applies to old models. If you have only 1 HDMI connector on the rear panel, then the audio signal will be transmitted. What if there are several such inputs? You need to study the specifications of the TV to find out if there is a possibility of using the digital streaming audio connector.
As you can see, you shouldn’t have any problems with setting up the connection. Everything is quite SIMple and easy. The main thing is to follow the recommendations and instructions.
If all the previous methods did not help to solve the problem of connecting Xiaomi to a PC, it remains to resort to a drastic step. to replace the firmware. Xiaomi phones support Chinese and international firmware.
Chinese firmware is used in China, so it does not support Russian. In addition, the installed applications are only relevant in the given country. International also supports more than 50 different languages, including Russian.
All versions can be quickly and easily updated, the phone itself controls this process when connected to the Internet. But if Xiaomi is not updating, the user can do it manually:
- Go to “Settings”. “About phone”. “System update”.
- The device checks for available updates. If they are, there will be an offer to install them.
It so happens that you want to change the Chinese version of the Global firmware to the international one. After all, the international one makes it possible to additionally calibrate the necessary data of the smartphone (touchscreen, for example), as well as make other calibrations. Let’s figure out how to do it.
There is a MiFLash program. With its help, the user gets the opportunity to reflash the phone, thereby update and install the necessary drivers.
Mi PC Suite and Android Studio. using these programs, the PC will correctly recognize Xiaomi in any mode.
So, first, download the stable Global firmware. It is better to unzip the downloaded files to the C drive, while the path to the files should not have spaces and Russian letters.
If your PC has OS higher than Windows 8, disable driver digital signature verification.
Next, we transfer the mobile to EDL mode. To do this, on the PC in the command line, enter “fastboot devices”. Let’s check the connected phone. After that, the system should detect the drivers and install them. Then we prescribe the combination “fastboot oem edl”, activating the EDL mode. Before that, we get the developer’s rights (it was written about it above).
We turn off the smartphone. We hold down the screen unlock button and the volume down key, this is how to take a screenshot (screenshot). Then we connect to the PC via USB.
Now let’s move on to installing the firmware. This is done in parts:
- Launch MiFlash.
- Click Refresh.
- Using Browse, indicate the path to the new firmware.
- Click Flash All.
The firmware will start installing. The process is short, it takes about 3 minutes. Disconnect the device from USB and press the lock button until the phone vibrates and the company logo appears on the screen.
The system will start in 5 to 10 minutes. Once launched, you can customize your phone from scratch.
Popular reasons why the computer does not see the connected phone
The most common causes are often fairly SIMple to resolve. Consider them:
- Broken USB cable.
- Lack of drivers required for such actions.
- Computer operating system problems, possibly a virus or some kind of malfunction.
- Broken USB connectors.
It often happens that the USB ports on the computer are clogged with dust, crumbs, or something else. To exclude this option, clear them and try to connect again.
If everything worked out, great, you can safely transfer data. And so that this problem does not arise again, use special plugs for USB connectors.
Connecting Xiaomi to PC using Terminal emulator and via QCustomShortcu
Terminal emulator has an icon depicting a green man with horns.
To use the program, you need to download it on Google Play. After downloading and installing, you should:
- Write in the terminal “su”, then. “Confirm”.
- Type “setprop persist.sys.usb.config mtp, adb”. It is necessary to type exactly as it is written, otherwise the program will perform the task incorrectly.
- Next. “Enter”. “reboot” and “Enter”.
After these steps, the gadget will reboot. Now it can be connected to a PC. This guide is suitable for transferring photos, pictures and screenshots. The rest of the documents cannot be transferred. There is another way for this.
If you suddenly lost connection settings, QCustomShortcut will come to the rescue.
And so, after the program is installed, select “com.android.settings” in the “Package” field, and “com.android.settings.USBSettings” in the “Class” field. Then. “Create Shortcut”. That’s all, you can transfer data without any problems.
Sometimes, when connecting Xiaomi to a computer, only pictures, photos, screenshots are transferred. The rest of the files, both text and audio and. cannot be thrown. This problem can and should be solved. Let’s figure out how to do it.
When Xiaomi is connected to a PC, a notification will appear, on which you should quickly click and select “File Transfer”.
On this, the error will be resolved and there will be no obstacles to the transmission of data of various formats.
Enabling USB Debugging
Enabling USB debugging is a good way out of the situation if the computer does not see the gadget. This method is suitable if the phone connection is not displayed on the PC, and the device itself shows a successful connection. In this case, you need to do the following:
It’s worth noting that the method won’t work if you don’t have developer rights. To get them, you must:
Press on the last menu item about seven times until the inscription appears: “You have become a developer”.
Then we scroll down and look for the item “For the developer”.
If this item is missing, then the antivirus program is to blame. To work around this issue, perform a factory reset.
The standard way to connect a Xiaomi smartphone to a computer
You can transfer data from your Xiaomi phone to a PC by connecting it with a USB cable. It seems to be nothing complicated, but there are problems when the computer does not see the device.
Let’s look at the basic aLGorithm of actions that will explain the whole process step by step, and also analyze possible problems due to which it is impossible to connect Xiaomi to a computer. To avoid errors, it is necessary to perform all actions strictly according to the points below.

Method number 3
Another option is to go to the Start menu Devices and Printers on the PC and select the model of your smartphone (if it appears), for example, Xiaomi Redmi 3. Hover over it and right-click (RMB) troubleshoot update the driver.
Then go to My Computer and an icon with access to the phone’s memory should appear there.
How to connect Xiaomi to a computer
How to connect Xiaomi to a computer? It would seem that what could be easier. took a USB cable and connected the PC to the smartphone. Usually in such cases, Android devices are detected and connected automatically, but what if this does not happen? There are several ways:
You need to go to the phone settings, then additionally for developers USB debugging. enable. This can help, but there are times when the item “for developers” is missing. This often happens due to antivirus software.
In this case, a factory reset will help you. Do not forget to save your data to the media beforehand, as it will be deleted.
Method number 4
For this method, we need the Android terminal emulator program. It can be downloaded from the Play Store. After that, we connect the smartphone to the PC and there are 2 options:
To connect in USB mode:
At the second point, enter setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage, adb
This method has helped many owners of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2, Redmi 3 pro, Mi Max, Redmi 3s phones, so try it, maybe it will solve your problem too.
Doesn’t help at all. Redmi 4A 32GB
I’m shocked by this Chinese craft! Native MiPCSuite does not work on redmi note 4! But third-party software detects the phone, etc.
a SIMilar situation, neither with the native cord, nor through the developer, in any way
Method 4 did not help on Redmi Note 4X. terminal emulator does not execute the listed commands.
Option 3 too. troubleshooting does not offer to update the driver. it checks itself and writes that no problems were found.
The first 2 options, respectively, are not suitable by definition, otherwise I would not be looking for an answer to this question.
The question is, how can I change the Avast antivirus so that the For Developers menu item appears? And then something does not want to go to the factory settings.
The same situation, besides, how can I throw off the information that I need from my phone and at the same time I cannot connect to any PC?
Elsewhere I found how to enable developer mode. Antivirus turns out to be nothing to do with.
Does NOT work, resets
SUPER! The first method helped. And in the 34-page manual, there was no room for three lines! At another link on the Web, I first read a long and tedious instruction with suggestions like reinstalling firewood or even (!) Returning to the factory settings. Thank you so much,
In whose name should the check be sent? # 128578;
enough SIMple thanks)
The SU team does not pass.
Thank you very much! The first way worked!
You can also use software like MyPhoneExplorer and connect via Wi-Fi
Thanks. Only your way helped me.
Xiaomi RedMi 5 helped with the first tip. thanks
And with Windows XP, which of these methods works?
We call Explorer, on the top left we call the Menu (three horizontal lines) and select FTP from the menu. We see the server address, write it down on a piece of paper. Now, on the desktop, we type this address and find ourselves directly in the Xiaomi Explorer. This is if the router is on, Wi-Fi is present, the smartphone is on and switched to FTP mode.
Thanks. Helped on Mi8, 128 gb.
Thanks to the author.
Yoshkin cat. Where have you been before. The computer saw all the phones and xiaomi completely ignored. I broke my whole head.
Thanks. I connected the phone using the first method, but the computer does not see the SD-CARD with the photo. What to do?
Thanks! It helped me on redmi note 3.
Redmi 5a does not connect to the laptop with win 8.1 None of the steps from the instructions helped. Developer mode, USB debugging, MTP.

How to Transfer Photos from Redmi 6A to PC.
After connecting to a PC, go to My Computer. find your smartphone there and look for the DCIM folder
Thanks, Method1 helped
Friends, I took the cord from my old phone, microusb, and it worked! A window appeared on your phone where you can choose to transfer files! Used an adapter from tipe-c to microusb for the cord! It didn’t work out otherwise! In general, change the cord
I have two smartphones Redmi 4a and 3 After updating the latest version of Win10 64 (version 1809), the Redmi 3 computer stopped being detected in the system, and charging is in progress.It is visible through MyPhone, but the conductor does not see it, and of course it is impossible to use it through a computer for the implementation of a number of programs, for example, as an external modem, which is very important for me. I also installed the latest drivers, but things are still there. Redmi 4 does not have these problems. Can someone tell me what to do.
In addition, I will say the following. I do not recommend updating Redmi 4a to version Global 10.2 and 10.1 there are jambs in a number of modes, including in the disabled screen lock mode., For example, it is impossible to activate a SIM card (more precisely, it is possible, but very difficult), and so answer an incoming call ……
The same trouble after the update. Mi max 2 is detected on a PC, but the content cannot be seen.
Solved the problem. In the section for developers there is a subsection “USB configuration”. I entered it and switched between different points of this subsection. As a result, I entered the MTP, as it was. The problem disappeared!))
- Open the “Device Manager” on the computer;

Connecting to a Computer: Installing Drivers
Drivers are software that helps the computer understand how the connected gadget / device works and how to “communicate” with it.
All devices have their own drivers: phones, printers, scanners, etc.
It happens that even when the phone is connected for the first time, the drivers are installed by themselves and subsequently updated when needed. However, if this did not happen, you can do the installation procedure yourself.
How to install drivers on a computer:
- Re-search sites with software on the Internet and choose the most reliable (for example, w3bsit3-dns.com);
how to connect xiaomi to computer
- In the section with your smartphone model find two archives: “MediaTek program” and “Qualcomm program” and download them;
- In the usual way, unzip these files and put what you get on the system drive (as a rule, drive C) so as not to lose or accidentally delete;
- Restart your computer (on your own, if you have not received a notification of the need from the PC itself);
Now try connecting your phone. If he still does not see the computer or you have already installed drivers, we will try to update them.
Method one: instructions:
- Go to the call menu;
- Enter the following combination in it: “###”;
- After entering the last character, a dialog box should appear on the screen, in which 2 options will be available. select the connection method “MTP”;
- As mentioned earlier, this mode allows you to transfer any files from a smartphone to a computer, therefore it is also called multimedia;
Xiaomi does not see the computer: we are debugging via usb
The way that is often used when solving a connection problem is usb debugging.
Debugging mode via usb or debugging mode is a kind of making changes to the operating system for some specific purpose. With this function, you can get root-rights. user rights, and with them, many new features.
Using usb debugging, you can:
- Identify problems with the phone, which is what we need;
- Test the components of the device;
- Test the work of any programs;
- Back up data (backup);
- Receive more detailed data about the phone and all processes taking place in it;
- Recover device.
As we can see, root rights allow you to do a lot of interesting and useful things.
How to get user rights and debug via usb:
- Go to “Settings” and then go to “About smartphone” or “About device”;
- Find the field where the installed version of MIUI is written and click on it up to 7 times;
- If you did everything correctly, a notification about obtaining root rights will appear;
- Now go to “Advanced” or “Advanced settings” and “For developers”;
- There find the field “Debugging by usb” and activate it;
Why Xiaomi won’t connect to the computer: reasons
In those. Support and service centers often receive questions about the lack of connection of the phone to the computer. There are a number of reasons why the connection may not work, and before asking for the help of specialists, make sure for yourself that you have checked everything.
The computer does not see the Xiaomi phone because:
- Broken / bent cable. When cables are bent, the wires inside them go away, and they can no longer perform the corresponding function. In this situation, you just need to purchase a new cable;
- The required drivers are not installed on the computers. Perhaps this is the first time you basically connect the phone to the computer, or it is possible that some kind of failure has occurred in the system.
- Using the wrong connection method or incorrect connection.
How to connect Xiaomi to a computer: the standard method
First, connect your phone to your computer via usb and check the SIMple functionality.
- Insert cables into both connectors;
- Open the top curtain-menu on the phone in the tab with notifications;
- A line should appear there notifying you of the connection;
how to connect xiaomi to computer
- Click on it and you will go to the connection settings;
- So, the connection may not work if you have both options disabled, as shown above. Activate the first field “Media device (MTP)”. so you can transfer any data from your phone.
Method two: instruction
- For this method, you need to install the Android Terminal Emulator application on your phone, which you can find in PlayMarket;
how to connect xiaomi to computer
- After downloading, connect the gadget to your computer;
- Open the program, enter “su” and confirm your action;
- Next enter “setprop persist.sys.usb.config mtp, adb” and press “Enter”;
- Enter “Reboot”, press “Enter” and wait for the phone to reboot;
- Done! This procedure can also be carried out not only on Xiaomi devices.
Additional ways to connect Xiaomi Redmi to computer
There are a couple more ways to establish a connection between the phone and the PC.
How to connect Xiaomi to a computer: details and instructions
Many users of smartphones of any brand often connect their gadgets to a computer in order to transfer any files or install something on the phone. But in order to be able to do this, you need to know the correct connection sequence and possible nuances, as well as the sources of problems, in order to be ready to solve them as they become available.
How to connect a TV to a computer
Almost every TV, including the old CRT, can be connected to a computer or laptop.
All options for connecting a TV to a computer can be divided into 2 types:
Connection as a monitor (single or additional). In this case, playback is displayed on the TV. music, photos and other files will be handled by the computer.
Connecting a computer to a TV to play files stored on a computer using a TV. In fact, the computer in this case will perform the functions of a regular flash drive. But this method is possible only for modern TVs equipped with built-in players.
You can connect a TV as a monitor using one of the following connectors:
RJ45 (standard network connector);
Examine the connectors on your computer and TV, and based on their type, select the connection method that suits you. Below you will find images of each of these connectors, as well as guidelines for how to connect the TV to a computer using them.
HDMI is by far the preferred option for connecting a TV to a computer. Through it, in addition to high-definition images, sound is also transmitted.
TV and computer (laptop) must be equipped with the appropriate connector (see the image), the physical dimensions of which are: width. 14 mm, height 4.5 mm.
To connect, you need an HDMI to HDMI cable (with an HDMI plug on both sides).
some computers may have a mini-HDMI connector instead of the usual HDMI. In this case, in addition to the cable, you will also need a mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter, which most often comes with such a card (or is purchased separately).
Disconnect the TV and computer from the power supply;
Connect the connectors of the computer and TV with a DVI-DVI or VGA-VGA cable (depending on the selected connection option);
Connect the audio output of the computer to the audio-in connector of the TV using the purchased audio cable;
Turn on the computer and TV;
Specify the DVI or VGA connector as the source in the TV settings (as appropriate). Most often, this is done using the “input” or “source” button on the remote control;
Extend your computer desktop to a second monitor. This requires:
Installing a DLNA Server on a Computer and Configuring It
One of the best free DLNA servers is the Home Media Server program.
Home media server:
After installing the Home Media Server program, you need to change some of its settings (the TV must already be connected to the computer with a network cable and be turned on):
How to view files from a computer on TV
To play media files from your computer on your TV, you need to turn on your computer and TV, open the Home Media Server program on your computer, and start the server by clicking the Start button. Then, on the TV, select the Ethernet (LAN) connector as the source (the “input” or “source” button on the remote control).
The explorer will open, in which you can select and open the required file using the remote control (as when viewing files from a USB flash drive).
Physical connection of the TV to the computer
The physical connection method depends on the technical capabilities of the TV. The TV can be equipped with an RJ45 connector (normal network connector, see the image above), a Wi-Fi module, or both at the same time. A network cable connection is considered faster and more reliable, therefore, if possible, this option should be preferred.
I will not consider connecting a TV via Wi-Fi, since it practically does not differ from connecting other devices, and every student today knows how to do this.
With a network cable, you can connect the TV directly to the computer. If the computer is connected to the router and its network card is already busy, then the TV can also be connected to a free connector on the router.
In the first case, it will be necessary to “manually” make certain changes to the settings of the network card of the computer and the TV (about them just below), in the second. the router will independently make all the settings and automatically ensure the interaction between the computer and the TV.
The router option is not always acceptable. The fact is that watching on TV from a computer creates a serious load on the router, as a result of which there may be malfunctions in its operation, manifested by a slowdown or loss of Internet connection. In this case, it is not advisable to buy a more expensive and efficient router. It is better to install an additional network card in a computer specifically for a TV. It will cost approximately 5-7 dollars. USA, the new router is 10 times more expensive.
As mentioned above, when the TV is directly connected to the computer’s network card, it is necessary to configure them, namely, to register the parameters of interaction via the IP protocol in the settings. One of the settings is shown in the table.
|IP address||Subnet mask||Gateway||DNS server|
If there are 2 network cards installed in the computer, the specified settings need to be made only in the properties of the one to which the TV is connected.
To connect you will need:
Cord “S-Video. S-”(with“ S-”plugs on both sides, see Fig. 3) for transfer from computer to TV.
Select the length of the cord depending on the distance from the computer to the connected TV. It is better to buy a shielded cord (its cost is higher, but the image will also be better), although often good quality can be achieved with the help of the cheapest copies.
SCART-audio / / s-adapter.
If you want to transmit to TV not only. but also sound, you will also need a “jack” cord. two “tulips” (see Fig. 4). Its length should correspond to the length of the transmission cord.
Important. Before each plugging / unplugging of the plugs to / from the connectors of the computer and TV described below, ALWAYS disconnect them (computer and TV) from the power supply.
See pictures for DVI and VGA connectors.
Computer and TV must be equipped with one of these. When choosing the option between DVI and VGA, preference should be given to the first, and only if it is absent, use the VGA interface.
If a decision is made to connect via VGA, but the computer has only one such connector and it is occupied by the main monitor, you can use the “DVI to VGA” adapter and convert the free DVI connector of the card into another VGA (see fig.).
Only the DVI and VGA interfaces are transmitted. Therefore, to transfer sound from a computer to a TV, in addition to the DVI-DVI or VGA-VGA cable, you will also need an additional audio cable with 3.5 plugs on both sides.
S- / SCART
The method described below is suitable for old TVs and the same old computers. It implies that the computer must have an “s-video” output and the TV must have a wide 21-pin scart connector.
Make sure that there is a small connector on your computer’s card (near the monitor connector), SIMilar to a standard connector for a mouse or keyboard, labeled “s-video” (see Figure 1). The TV to be connected must have a wide 21-pin SCART connector (usually located at the back of the TV (see Fig. 2).
Disconnect the TV and computer from the power supply;
Connect a cable to the HDMI connectors of the computer and the TV;
Turn on the computer and TV;
Specify the HDMI connector as the source in the TV settings. Most often, this is done using the “input” or “source” button on the remote control;
Make changes to computer settings:
You can learn more about setting screen resolution here.
