How to connect speakers to your Sony Bravia TV

The most convenient way is to connect external speakers to the receiver and use HDMIARC. The meaning of this technology is as follows. When an external signal comes to the receiver (for example, from a multimedia player), it divides the video and audio into separate streams and arrives at the monitor via the NDM-wire, and the sound goes to the speakers. When watching live broadcasts, audio and video goes directly to the TV. Logically, to bring the sound to the speakers, you need one more wire. But with ARC technology, there is no need to use wires. Indeed, as already noted above, the NDM-cable is capable of transmitting a picture to both a TV screen and an AV receiver (but already sound). But it is important that HDMI has a version of at least 1.4, and the audio system, just like the TV, supports ARC technology.

If ARC is not supported, you can connect speakers using the optical jack, tulip or headphone jack. With a “tulip” connection, you need to manually translate the audio stream. If you made a connection via “jack”, you do not need to switch anything: the equipment will do it automatically.

  • Press the Home button on the remote control.
  • In the menu that opens, select Settings.
  • Further NETWORK ACCESSORIES and in this submenu Bluetooth settings Bluetooth.
  • Change the setting from off to on.

Digital TV set-top box

These set-top boxes are equipped with USB connectors. They are also called T2. The set-top box itself, most often, is connected to the TV using HDMI, but if the TV is old, then through the “tulip”. To play the desired file from a USB flash drive, do the following:

  • Connect the drive to the USB port of the set-top box.
  • Turn on the TV.
  • Using the remote control through the “Menu” select the desired file.
  • Click the “Play” button.

As you can see, everything is quite simple and no conflicts usually arise in this case.

Wired TV connection to external devices: general information

Not all cables that may be needed during the procedure are included in the basic package. Therefore, they will need to be purchased separately. Use good quality wires. After all, insignificant savings can result in damage to expensive equipment, or the quality of the image or sound reproduction will suffer. Also, do not forget that you need to connect the wires on devices unplugged from the outlet.

In the designs of the trademark in question, many different connectors are provided. Let’s take a closer look at them.

This state-of-the-art high-definition multimedia interface enables the transmission of ultra-high-definition digital images and multichannel discrete audio. It is the support for multi-streaming digital audio that differentiates HDMI from DVI. But if the second device instead of the HDMI jack has DVI, do not worry: there are special adapters on sale.

HDMI is ideal for connecting Blu-ray players, game consoles, PCs, camcorders, home theater receivers.

The picture when transmitting the image through the NDMI wire has the maximum possible resolution (if the capabilities of the TV receiver allow it). But do not forget that there are different cable versions: from 1.0 to 2.1.

The difference between the two is primarily in the bandwidth and the supported resolution. Thus, HDMI1.0 had a data transfer rate of up to 4.9 Gb / s, while in the recently appeared HDMI2.1 this figure reaches 48 Gb / s. HDMI 2.1 supports 4K, and even 8K and 10K (such displays have not yet appeared, but the interface for them has already been developed), as well as a higher refresh rate.

As a rule, Sony TVs have several NDM ports, which allows you to use high quality transmission for all devices that support this standard. The ports are numbered; when connecting, remember the number that was used. After connecting, press the “Input” button on the remote control. A dialog box will open in front of you, in which you must specify which signal you want to apply. If you have several NDM connections, the port number will help you navigate.

If your multimedia system consists entirely of Sony devices, they are connected to each other via the NDM interface and support BRAVIASYNC technology, you can synchronize them. For example, you insert a disc into a DVD or start a game console, and the TV itself turns on and off when you are finished using it.

To configure the use of SYNC technology, follow these steps:

  • Press the HOME button on the remote control to enter the main menu.
  • Go to the “Setting” section and select “External Input”. “SettingSYNCBRAVIA”. “Device List”.

The screen will display all devices that support SYNC, activate the one you want. After that, turn on the technology in the outdoor device.

If the external device is not equipped with an NDM interface, you can use the analog ports. There are several of them on Sony TVs.

And first of all, this is the AV-input. three (less often two) round connectors of different colors. This standard was developed over 70 years ago, so don’t expect high image quality from it. People call it “tulip” for the unique appearance of the plugs. RCA is used in DVD players, VCRs, analog cameras. AV with two plugs outputs mono, three. stereo.

There is a TV and a composite connector. This is a set of five circular inputs (similar in appearance to tulips): three of them are used for video and two for audio. This panel jack may be labeled R L P r P b Y or COMPONENT. Unlike tulips, the composite interface allows you to output high-quality video, up to the Blu.Ray standard, but it is very sensitive to the quality of the wires and their correct connection.

Some models also have a SCART connector. It collects much less interference than any other type of cable. This versatile port can be used to connect a wide variety of devices. It is a single lug with two rows of contacts.

To switch your TV to any of these sources you need:

  • Press the INPUT button on the Sony remote.
  • Select the desired signal source.
  • The TV will mark the input to which the external structure is connected with an icon. In this case, the SCART connector is designated as AV1 and is always marked as active, even if not used.

How to set up IPTV on a Sony Bravia TV

Before you start setting up your IPTV, you need to turn on the Wi-Fi connection. Without an Internet connection, digital TV from the network will not work.

How to connect Sony Bravia TV to IPTV, setup and problem solving

Classic television, as a rule, is accident-free, and this is its disadvantage. To access a large number of channels, you need to be connected to cable or satellite TV. For some reason, not everyone has the ability or desire to install a satellite dish or run a cable into the house. Service providers know this and have come up with the perfect solution. IPTV. Next, let’s talk about installing IPTV for Sony Bravia TVs.

Installing SS IPTV

So, after turning on the Internet connection, you can start setting up your IPTV. To do this, you need:

  • In the settings menu, go to the “All applications” section.
  • Launch the “Opera TV” application.
  • In the program settings, enable the “Developer section”.
  • Find and select the “Generate ID” option. Once the key is generated, write down or remember it.
  • Next, you need to go and register on the website publish.cloud.vewd.com, specifying your email there.
  • You will receive a letter with a link to this mail, you need to go to it.
  • A window will open where you need to enter the TV model and ID-key.
  • As soon as the data is entered, the TV will start syncing.
  • After the end of pairing, go to the “Developer” section.
  • There, select the item “URL Loader”, then enter app-ss.IPTV.com into the line.
  • Finally, you need to agree to the user agreement, specify the country and provider.

The SS IPTV installation is completed, now the TV can be viewed through the program, you do not need to purchase a set-top box.

Some information about IPTV

IPTV technology, or Internet Protocol Television, is the transmission of a television signal using an Internet connection. It’s important to note that IPTV is not a streaming service like Netflix, for example. This means that to receive this type of transmission, you need a special set-top box or a Wi-Fi connection.

The biggest plus of this connection is interactivity. Due to the fact that playback is recorded, almost all broadcasts can be paused, rewound and re-started. By connecting IPTV, you no longer need to adjust to the channel’s schedule, you yourself control what you want to watch.

Depending on the service provider, the service part makes it possible to group channels by playlists to make navigation more convenient and take less time. You can also connect additional packages of TV channels, usually they are sorted by subject.

How to install Vintera TV

If for any reason the previous option does not suit you, then you should install Vintera TV. The functionality is almost identical, so you can consider this option.

  • Either in PlayMarket or Opera TV, in the search engine write “Vintera TV”.
  • Click the “Install” button.
  • Once the application is installed, go to it and apply the necessary parameters.

Possible problems and solutions

The most common problem that appears after setting up IPTV is “Error 2200”.

  • Press “Home” on the remote and go to the “System settings”.
  • Then go to “Settings”. “Network configuration”. “Refresh Internet Content”.
  • If a window appears with the message “Please wait and try again later”, then return to the menu and repeat the sequence of actions.

How to connect a TV to a computer via Wi-Fi

Earlier, I already wrote about how to connect a TV to a computer in different ways, but the instructions were not about wireless Wi-Fi, but about HDMI, VGA and other types of wired connection to the output of a video card, as well as setting up DLNA (this will be and in this article).

This time I will describe in detail the various ways to connect a TV to a computer and laptop via Wi-Fi, while several areas of application for a wireless connection of a TV will be considered. for use as a monitor or for playing movies, music and other content from a computer’s hard drive. See also: How to transfer image from Android phone or tablet to TV via Wi-Fi.

Almost all of the described methods, with the exception of the last one, require the TV to support Wi-Fi connection (that is, it must be equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter). However, most modern TVs Smart TVs can do this. The instructions are written for Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10.

Playing movies from a computer on a TV via Wi-Fi (DLNA)

For this, the most common method of wirelessly connecting a TV, in addition to the presence of a Wi-Fi module, it is also required that the TV itself is connected to the same router (i.e., to the same network) as the computer or laptop on which video and other content (for TVs with Wi-Fi Direct support, you can do without a router, just connect to the network created by the TV). I hope this is already the case, and separate instructions are not needed. the connection is made from the corresponding menu of your TV in the same way as connecting to Wi-Fi of any other device. See separate instructions: How to set up DLNA in Windows 10.

The next point is to set up a DLNA server on your computer or, more clearly, to share folders on it. Usually it is enough for this to be set to “Home” (Private) in the parameters of the current network. By default, the folders “Videos”, “Music”, “Pictures” and “Documents” are publicly available (you can share a particular folder by right-clicking on it, selecting “Properties” and the “Access” tab).

One of the quickest ways to enable sharing is to open Windows Explorer, select Network and if you see the message “Network discovery and file sharing are disabled,” click on it and follow the instructions.

If such a message does not follow, and instead computers on the network and media servers are displayed, then most likely you have everything set up (this is quite likely). If it did not work, then here is a detailed instruction on how to set up a DLNA server in Windows 7 and 8.

After DLNA is enabled, open the menu item on your TV to view the contents of the connected devices. On Sony Bravia, you can go to the Home button, and then select the section. Movies, Music or Pictures and watch the corresponding content from your computer (Sony also has a Homestream program that simplifies everything I have written). On LG TVs. the SmartShare item, there you should also see the contents of the shared folders, even if you do not have SmartShare installed on your computer. For TV of other brands, approximately similar actions are required (and also have their own programs).

Additionally, with an active DLNA connection, by right-clicking on the video file in the explorer (we do this on a computer), you can select the “Play on TV_name” menu item. When you select this item, the wireless video stream from the computer to the TV will start.

Note: Even though the TV supports MKV movies, these files do not work for “Play To” in Windows 7 and 8, and they do not appear in the TV menu. A solution that works in most cases is to simply rename these files to AVI on a computer.

We connect a regular TV via Wi-Fi without a wireless adapter

If you don’t have a Smart TV, but a regular TV, but equipped with an HDMI input, then you can still connect it wirelessly to your computer. The only detail is that you need an additional small device for this purpose.

  • Google Chromecast https://www.google.com/chrome/devices/chromecast/, allowing you to easily cast content from your devices to your TV.
  • Any Android Mini PC (USB-like device that connects to the HDMI port of the TV and allows you to work in a full Android system on TV).
  • Coming soon (presumably early 2015). Intel Compute Stick. a mini-computer with Windows connected to the HDMI port.

I described the most interesting options in my opinion (which, moreover, make your TV even more Smart than many of the Smart TVs produced). There are others: for example, some TVs support connecting a Wi-Fi adapter to a USB port, and there are also separate Miracast set-top boxes.

I will not describe the work with each of these devices in more detail within the framework of this article, but if you suddenly have questions, I will answer in the comments.

If the previous section was about how to play any files from a computer on a TV and have access to them, now we will talk about how to broadcast any image from a computer or laptop monitor to a TV via Wi-Fi, that is, use its like a wireless monitor. Separately on this topic Windows 10. How to enable Miracast in Windows 10 for wireless broadcast to TV.

The two main technologies for this are Miracast and Intel WiDi, with the latter reportedly becoming fully compatible with the former. Note that such a connection does not require a router, since it is installed directly (By Wi-Fi Direct technology).

  • If you have a laptop or PC with a 3rd generation Intel processor, Intel Wireless Adapter and Intel HD Graphics, then it must support Intel WiDi in both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. You may need to install Intel Wireless Display from the official website http://www.intel.com/p/ru_RU/support/highlights/wireless/wireless-display
  • If your computer or laptop was preinstalled with Windows 8.1 and equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter, then they must support Miracast. If you installed Windows 8.1 yourself, you may or may not be able to support it. No support for previous OS versions.

And finally, support for this technology is also required from the TV. Until recently, it was required to purchase a Miracast adapter, but now more and more TV models have built-in support for Miracast or receive it during the firmware update process.

The connection itself looks like this:

  • The TV must have support for Miracast or WiDi connection enabled in the settings (it is usually enabled by default, sometimes there is no such setting at all, in this case, the Wi-Fi module is enough). On Samsung TVs, the feature is called Screen Mirroring and is located in the network settings.
  • For WiDi, launch the Intel Wireless Display program and find the wireless monitor. When connected, you may be prompted for a security code that will be displayed on the TV.
  • To use Miracast, open the Charms bar (on the right in Windows 8.1), select Devices, then Projector (Transfer to Screen). Click on the “Add a wireless display” item (if the item is not displayed, Miracast is not supported by the computer. Updating the Wi-Fi adapter drivers may help.). details on the Microsoft website: http://Windows.microsoft.com/ru-ru/Windows-8/project-wireless-screen-miracast

I note that I could not connect my TV via WiDi from a laptop that exactly supports the technology. There were no problems with Miracast.
